I wanted to thank you so much for your prayers for and support of Pastor Nick as he continues to pursue his ordination. Happily, he “passed” his final interview for ordination at the Midwinter Conference with the Board of Ordered Ministry and we will look forward to his ordination on July 1 this summer in California! Yay! Praise the Lord!
This past Sunday, we received a call from the scripture to wade into the water and get our feet wet in order to lift someone up (like Pharaoh’s Daughter in Exodus 1-2). So many of you do this so often; I admire your work in the Lord! Recently, my feet have gotten “wet” trying to help a (literal) neighbor of ours. And while sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming, her gratitude is constantly overflowing. And I find myself filled with joy that we are able to make a difference for her.
I wonder if you ever feel the same way? How does getting your feet wet warm your heart? Do you ever find you need to stay on the beach a while to dry out? Do you have rhythms you follow that help you pace your service to others?
“Even youths will faint and be weary and the young will stumble and fall; but those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:30
What does it mean to wait on the Lord? Have you ever had an experience where you waited and the Lord renewed you? Where did you wait? Was it for a few minutes or a few years or longer? Are you still waiting?
Heavenly Father, I lift up those who are waiting for you. Renew their strength. Lift them up on supernatural wings. Each of us has only so much strength on our own, but together, we know you can do mighty things. Hold us. Mold us. Sustain us. Help us soar. To your glory. Amen.
With love,
Pastor Karen
