My dear friends,
It’s hard to believe that this Sunday will be my last as one of your pastors. Our time together has been short and these last months have flown by. I think there are several reasons why this feels to me more like a “see you later” than a “good bye.”
1. I will see you for the Christmas production. I’ll be coming as “mom” that day. 🙂
2. Pastor Nick is staying on. So my better half will still be your pastor for the time being, so at least a piece of my heart will still be there.
3. Your impact on me has changed me. And the change you have brought will be with me the rest of my life. There is so much I didn’t know four and a half years ago that I have learned and absorbed during this season while we’ve been traveling together.
I want to thank you for the many many ways you have supported us as a family and as ministers. Thank you for the fun times and for honoring us with hard conversations. Thank you for sharing your lives with us, your homes with us, your families with us. Thank you for sharing your food and your cultures with us. Thank you for sharing your children and your grandparents with us, your aunties and your babies. Thank you for sharing your countries and languages with us. Your traditions and your clothes with us. Your pain and your joy with us.
This generosity towards us… has been transformational. I am not the same person I was. Someone from Orchard said, “You helped us with our blind spots.” I want to say the same, you have helped me with mine.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I wish I could take all of you with me but I know that the Lord has other leaders in mind for you to nurture and grow who will also help you and nurture you.
God is good.
All the time.
Because that is His nature.
Amen.
