The rootedness of God’s church
Most of you have heard the news that Pastor Karen has accepted a new call, and will be finishing her ministry here on November 30th. I (Pastor Nick) have very willingly agreed to stay on until an interim/transitional pastor is found or until the summer. I know all of us have thoughts and feelings, griefs and worries. It will be a big change and changes are hard. However, as I think about our series this fall, ROOTED. I am reminded that God’s church is not rooted to its pastors.
It is our pastoral call to help the branches thrive, but we are not vine. We are branches too. Jesus is the vine. If we stay connected to him, we will continue to bear fruit. In the next months and in this season of transition and change, your council and pastors are committed to help you walk boldly and to look for what God wants to do next. But in this time of uncertainty, do not forget that we have the TRUE VINE who is the way, the truth and the life. If we put our trust in him, He will lead Orchard Covenant into this new season.
